THE SCIENCE
World-first research, built into every swim.
Can magnesium in water actually pass through the skin?
The research demonstrated that magnesium ions can permeate the human skin barrier and found that the extent of permeation was influenced by magnesium concentration and exposure time - findings that shaped a magnesium-rich, deliberately balanced multi-mineral blend.
Those findings didn’t just support the science behind MagneGlow.
They helped shape the formulation itself.
FROM RESEARCH TO FORMULATION
The science informed what went into the water.
Four findings. Four formulation decisions.
WHY THE FORMULATION MATTERS
It isn’t simply about adding minerals to pool water.
The research showed that what is in the water, how much is present and how long the skin is exposed all matter.
MagneGlow takes those findings and turns them into formulation decisions:
Magnesium-rich by design.
A balanced multi-mineral system.
Designed for the environment you spend time immersed in.
That’s the difference between adding magnesium to a pool and developing mineral water around science.
THE SCIENCE OF SKIN + RECOVERY
The research goes beyond permeation.
Skin + Hydration
Research referenced during development found that aqueous magnesium increased expression of filaggrin, a protein involved in normal epidermal function and the formation of natural moisturizing factors that help skin retain water.
This provides part of the scientific rationale for making magnesium-rich water central to the MagneGlow experience.
Muscle + Relaxation
Magnesium also plays an important role in normal muscle activity, and research referenced during development has investigated its relationship with muscle relaxation.
That is part of why magnesium has become so closely associated with recovery, relaxation and physical wellbeing.
